Last Thursday was a pretty cool day. After class we usually have a debriefing session with Sono-sensei. Two of her students stayed behind just to chat with us. I'm not sure how it happened but somehow Sono-sensei was able to share her testimony with the two girls. Don't ask me what was said because 95% of it was in Japanese, but I'm pretty sure that she was able to get the gospel presentation in her story as well. I am hoping that these girls will be curious and what to know more about the Bible.
On Saturday us girls went to a small party for some Japanese teenage girls. One of Charlie's friends runs a small english school and the teacher wanted to have a small party for the girls so he invited some native english speakers. The cool thing about this school is that the owner is a Christian. His school is relatively cheap in comparison to other schools so lots of parents want to send their kids there. The thing is he tells each parent that at the end of the lesson there will be a short bible lesson. Because the school is so cheap and they have an American teacher, the parents are willing to let him do this. It was a lot of fun spending time with the girls. We had chicken salad sandwiches because it was an american culture party. I really enjoyed talking with the girls even though they were really shy. After that we played Mafia or "Yakuza"(japanese mafia).
This week is going to be really busy because of the short term team, but also all the people we are meeting this week. We also will have a friendship party on Wednesday night. A friendship party is basically what it sounds like. We invited a lot of Japanese people, who are interested in English or having international friends, in hopes that deeper relationships will come out of it.
Please pray this week for the short term team, that they would have strength and that God would be able to use them in the short time they are here. Please pray that deeper relationships would develop out of our friendship party on Wednesday. Also please pray for the two girls, C and O, who heard Sono-sensei's testimony this past week. Please pray that we would have more opportunities to talk to them about the gospel this summer. Thanks so much everyone for your prayers and support! Just know that it is needed and we really appreciate it!
